Every fall, my husband and I get together with a group of great friends at a lake cottage on the shore of Webster Lake in Northern Indiana.
It’s a fun weekend and it almost involves some shopping. If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you've seen some of my favorite places.
This past weekend, the girls in the group decided we wanted to make a trip back to The Village at Winona.
I’ve been to this fun little shopping area several times and even posted about it once. That post tried to provide an overview of my favorite shops.
When I went back with friends last weekend, I’d found some shops were gone and there were some great new places. Today I’m going to feature just one – The Bungalow, which is a furniture and décor shop.
The place is so new that its website isn’t done and it’s not listed on The Village at Winona web site either. That’s no surprise. It’s grand opening was last week!
If you’re in the area, though, it’s worth the trip. Here’s what greets you right inside the front door:
We loved these little settees, especially upholstered in this gorgeous grey and white fabric. They were a perfect size for a small home – and so pretty.
And then we headed immediately over to these glass, beaded lamps. Gorgeous – but at nearly $600, we weren’t taking any home!
Not everything in this beautiful store was nearly so expensive.
I honestly didn’t write down many prices. But I did note that a number of the chairs were older pieces that had been reupholstered. (You know how much I love that!) Check out this cute little black and white chair, which had been redone.
And I think some of the chairs were under $200, which is a steal!
What I loved best about the store was all the color and pattern – not just in the accessories but in its furniture as well.
The shop had amazing selection of rugs for order – and they were also so colorful.
These are only a handful of the dozens of options on display.
I’m only bummed that because I wasn’t expecting to do a post, I only had my iPhone, instead of the cameras I typically use. It doesn’t do the shop justice!
But I gave it my best shot.
I loved this pink petals pillow, and the greyish pillows displayed with it. In fact, I loved the whole color scheme – a sort of periwinkle, purple, green and pink. Very pretty.
Below is a closer look at one of those sweet settees. I’m crazy about the pillow too.
The shop was showing quite a bit of orange as well – in a more tangerine shade that is so fresh.
Below right is a GurglePot, which has a kind of fun story behind it that is too long to go into here. But you can check it out here.
There’s a little bathroom that includes this cool hot pink mirror and a fun towel holder made from an old faucet handle.
I think the little towel holder was under $10 and would add a touch of whimsy to any bathroom.
There are so many beautiful things packed into this little shop.
I love these table linens.
Here are a few more shots from inside the shop:
And one from out on The Bungalow porch:
The next time you’re in Northern Indiana, try to check out The Village at Winona. There are specialty shops for hobbies, art and clothing there, in addition to some great places to stop for coffee or a meal.
I highly recommend it.
