More than a year ago I became sort of fascinated by the ruffled shower curtains that had become so hip and now I find myself somewhat drawn to ruffled bedding as well.
The look wouldn’t work in my house. Our bedrooms aren’t at all girly.
But I can appreciate the style for another home – in a cottage look, of course, but even in something more modern.
The beautiful duvet cover at right is from Urban Outfitters and runs $149 to $199, depending on the size you purchase.
It’s part of the store’s waterfall collection.
You can also buy waterfall pillows, curtains and – yep – shower curtains.
Of course, you don’t have to do all-over ruffles (although I have to admit I think that’s actually the trend I kind of like).
The bedding below is the ruffled jersey organic duvet cover from Pottery Barn. It’s $39 to $129 – a pretty good bargain.
Or how about all-over tiny ruffles?
I saw this interesting king size quilt – called the Bella – at Overstock for just $106.
I love to check Etsy to see what all those handy folks have come up with. Sure enough, I found the more traditional ruffled bed spread (below right) at Full Bloom Cottage on Etsy. It’s $749.
Below left is the nimbus jersey bedding from Anthropologie, which runs $58 to $308.
Finally, if you want to try to make your own ruffled bedspread, check out the tutorial over at the Kiki Creates blog. Very impressive!
