When I was in New Orleans this week I fell in love with the gorgeous red glass chandeliers in the registration area at the Marriott hotel where I was staying.
Like all lighting at hotels, they were striking, oversized pieces that are elegant yet modern.
Most of us, though, could never put something like that in our homes. It would just seem gaudy – and of course these are just way too huge.

The room below, which I’ve featured previously for its closet office, is from Better Homes and Gardens. I like the throw-back style blue pendant over the table.
