Then those same hooks would be both functional and decoration, which is Idea #23 in our series of 30 decor ideas in 30 days for under $30.
Not only is this a great place to store some bibs and shoes but those beautiful colors look great in the nursery too.
I love the way the antique hooks are used in the very adult bedroom below to hang a couple of pretty vases – but also a piece of a clothing. Beautiful and practical.
Lydia Somerville of MyHomeIdeas.com said she was inspired to hang these hooks by a dressing area in her room at the Watercolor Inn in Florida's Panhandle. She called it “a wonderfully practical arrangement in a beachside hotel room where bathing suits and bathrobes tend to pile up.”
In the bedroom, they make sense too because they’re a great place for yesterday’s outfits and today’s rejected options.
I also like the use of the hooks at right to hold baskets. In this BHG photo, each basket is assigned to a family member, who can use it to hold essentials.
Sometimes, the hooks themselves can be the showpieces.
I saw the pretty mirrored hooks below when I visited the home of Kay & Scott Whitaker in the Meridian Kessler neighborhood of Indianapolis last year.
I can’t remember where she bought them (TJMaxx, maybe?) but I remember that she bought a bunch because they were such a bargain!
Her find inspired me to look for some great, under $30 hooks for you to try as well.
