This Morning Bytes six-piece toaster/mug warmer set is not just fun to look at. You can use it to keep your coffee warm and send your significant other or your kids a message on their toast: “Bite me” or “ugh.” There are plenty of mornings I might have chosen either or both.
“Similar to the TV dinners of the fifties, where families gathered to watch and eat at the tube, people are now gathering around the computer screen in the mornings to catch up on news, weather, and mail,” say the promoters of the set.
“Pop Art Toaster has embraced the era of affordable computers and is ushering in computer breakfasts,” they say. “Plug the mug warmer into a USB port and ease into the day with a leisurely morning of coffee and browsing the internet. It even comes with a melamine tray for your breakfast like the ones invented during the onset of Swanson's TV dinner.”
It’s $44.99 at the Pop Art Toaster store.
OK. OK. It’s a bit silly and that’s a pretty long winded description of a product that essentially makes toast and keeps your coffee from getting cold. But it got my attention!
The set includes the fifties inspired toaster with “cool touch housing.” It comes in a two-tone aqua and black color and has three toasting functions and seven heat settings. “Even the pickiest toast connoisseurs can have it their way,” the promoters say.
You can use or remove the plates that singe “bite me” and “ugh” on your toast, which will also make room for bagels etc.
It’s part of a larger line of fun Pop Art Toasters, including more modern-looking, chrome versions. You can also buy sets of message plates or even order custom ones and there’s a coloring set that lets kids color in the singed images.
