I stumbled on this project at Better Homes and Gardens and decided it was too cute not to share.
It reminds me of my recent chair-turned-garden-stand project that I wrote about last week and the directions are essentially the same: Cut a hole in the seat and insert bowl or pot.
Of course, you could get as fancy as you wanted. I painted my metal garden chair a fun color both to make it stand out and help it survive the weather.
Although your dog feeder will be inside, you could still paint your chairs a fun color.
I also love the idea because you could use almost any chair. In this case, it’s a couple of traditional, slightly rustic chairs. But you could also use a pair of modern chairs or a sleek bench.
Head on over to the fun IKEA Hacker web site to some ideas for dog feeders made from IKEA furnishings.
Not sure you want to take on this project? Don’t worry.
I also discovered the Bella Vita Pet shop on Etsy where Jennie creates and sells adorable “chow chairs.”
Check out the one at left. It’s the “glamour” model and comes personalized with your pet’s name. So cute! This one is $60.
Bella Vita Pet shop is also having a sample sale where Jennie is selling pieces that she had showed at craft fairs and other shows. She’s selling them for $40 each.
If you make your own, though, send me a picture. I’d love to see it!
