I promised earlier this week that I’d do one more black and white post in an honor of tomorrow's Indianapolis 500, this city’s biggest annual event.
So today, I’ve got a post full of beautiful black and white bathrooms for you to drool over.
I thought it was completely appropriate to start with the Better Homes and Gardens bathroom at right.
That checkerboard painted tub was just too good to pass up. It looks like it was inspired by the flag that will fly as the Indy 500 winner crosses the finish line!
I really love it!
The BHG bathroom has a real country flare. But the great thing about black and white is that it goes with so many styles.
In the bathroom below, the graphic wallpaper print creates an upscale, transitional look in a tiny powder room designed by Jennifer at Niche Interiors in San Francisco. I would never have the guts to put that busy print into that little room but it works perfectly!
In the modern BHG bathroom below, the black and white design is sleek and complements the contemporary sinks and mirrors.
The Jeanette Cataldo-designed bathroom below is another great example of black and white used in a contemporary way. I love the black-trimmed mirrors and the extensive use of marble. The room is featured on HGTV.com.
Black and white also makes for a fantastic cottage look. The vanity in the BHG bathroom below is so pretty and I love the black painted trim.
It also looks great in this BHG bathroom highlighted by that amazing black and white tub. I love that the wainscoting here is painted black with off-white walls above it. Typically, you’ll find the reverse.
Finally, here’s another bathroom with a spectacular black and white wallpaper. This BHG room is so tiny but the print really gives it a presence.
You can check out the Indy 500 tomorrow at 1 p.m. on ABC. Watch for that checkered flag!
