It's only March 1, but I saw the first green buds this weekend peeking through the leftover snow in my garden. It made me think about spring, which inspired this post about green kitchens.
I've focused on kitchens with green cabinets -- not green paint. That's because I admire homeowners who have the guts to go with anything but a neutral on the bones of a room, rather than just the accessories or paint.
In particular, I love the pear, lime and chartreuse greens that really remind me of spring.
Check out the gorgeous green on the cabinets in the room at right featured at Better Homes and Gardens.
The green on the kitchen cabinets below from MyHomeIdeas.com is incredibly refreshing. Add when you add all the glass inserts and the red accents, the green becomes almost a neutral.
Below, in the kitchen from Sunset on MyHomeIdeas.com, the pale mint green creates an equally refreshing look. And in this case, the color and style lends almost a historic feel, rather than the contemporary look you get from the cabinets in the photos above.
The Southern Living kitchen below -- found at MyHomeIdeas.com -- features an olive green on the cabinets that looks fantastic with the black granite countertops.
I'm not sure what color to label the green on the cabinets in the retro kitchen on BHG. Seafoam green? Jade? Persian green? What do you think?
Finally, the forest green cabinets in the BHG kitchen below provides just the right woodsy touch to the homey rustic kitchen.
So could you go for green cabinets? Or any strong color on your cabinets? Or do you like neutral cabinets and color on the wall?
