My stop last night at the Stutz Artists Association Holiday Exhibit and Sale was a great reminder of all the amazing and often affordable art available to really turn your home into a special space.
I purchased a pair of tiny poppy paintings by Dina Verplank for our guest bedroom. I love buying small original art pieces to tuck into unexpected places. These were perfect!
But the sale -- located at the Stutz building in downtown Indianapolis -- had something for everyone.
Dina Verplank painted the poppy paintings (in coppery orange frames below) that I purchased at the fair. I thought that they were beautiful and would look great in my guest bedroom, where there's now just a touch of orange.
The Stutz show included a number of 6-inch by 8 inch original paintings by many of the artists that were sold for $100 each as a fundraiser for Brooke’s Place.
Just inside the door of the gallery were paintings by Judith Sturges (far left side below) with other artists' work spreading out through the exhibit space.
Oil painter Katherine LaPlace Meade showed a number of works at the show, including larger and smaller pieces, all beautifully framed.
I was particularly taken by these JanettMarie "Little Paintings," which included some gorgeous flowers and cool urban cityscapes.
Jane Knight explains her finger-painted wo-di impressions to a potential buyer at the sale. Wo-di is a Cherokee word for paint.
The sale brought out a big crowd. It was great to see so many folks out on a third Friday, rather than a First Friday!
