We spent the last two days checking out stylish products for cats and dogs. Now, let's look at some chic items for dog and cat owners.
I'm not suggesting that anybody go crazy here. You don't have to cover your home with dog and cat stuff to let visitors know you prefer the canine or feline species to your fellow humans. (You've seen those folks. C'mon, you don't want to be one of them!)
A few well-placed, fun pieces should do the trick.
So check out some of these:
Artist Susan Faye sells cool custom pet people family portraits at her etsy site
for $52 (see at left and above). These custom watercolor paintings are matted to 11x14 and make a great one-of-a-kind gift or addition to your own home.
From 2modern you can order this MyPetLamp Angora from OFFI. The kitty lamp (at right and above) is made from nontoxic, odorless plastic and uses a low voltage bulb. It is $59.
Crypton Fabrics has some fantastic pillows celebrating dogs, including the Petalonia (at left, $60), the Doodle Dog Reverse (above, $40), and the Dog Eared ($40). They're all 18 inch squared and available in a variety of
colors.
In the Company of Dogs has whimsical, digital fine art prints (at right and above) created by artist John W. Golden, who captures the irrepressible charm of favorite breeds. They can even be personalized with your dog's name. They cost $69.95.
Just last week, my favorite Moderncat blog featured the art work of Matte Stephens, a painter from Oregon who often incorporates kitties into his mid-century modern styled pieces (like the ones at left and above). Prints start at about $35.
For those of you who (like me) use a fan even with air conditioning, check out this sheet-metal fan in the shape of a dog, available from In the Company of Dogs. It has a great coppery patina finish (see it at right) and is $89.95.
Also from 2modern is this beautiful Dog Wool Rug (at left), which costs between $310 and $1,360 depending on the size. This Avalisa rug is hand-tufted in India.
Design Public sells this cute Cat Pillow from k studio. It sells for $110. Design Public also has other k studio pillows featuring families with pets.
Avalisa sells a festive canvas featuring two dogs and available in a variety of colors (see the one in blue at left and pink above). It comes in three sizes. The 18-inch square is $99.
