One of my favorite blogs -- and an inspiration for The Design File -- is Moderncat, a site dedicated to featuring well-designed cat products with a modern aesthetic. So I was especially excited to see that the site's publisher, Kate Benjamin, was featured on Apartment Therapy’s Unplggd blog.
Actually, Kate's office was featured as part of the site's Behind the Blog series. Not only is the office space simple and practical but it's filled with her six modern cats, making it well worth a look, especially for you cat lovers. Check out the post here.
Here are some other posts I think you'll enjoy:
- Maruja Fuentes’ green pocket tiles were among the new products featured at the 2009 Milan Furniture Fair. See them at right and read more about them at the Inhabitat blog.
- The Guardian, which is actually a newspaper in the UK and not a blog, had a good article this week headlined "Fight the biege," which is about adding some life to your rental space. It includes nice tips -- written in some fun to read prose -- including this one: Break up the porridgey scene with large-scale canvases covered with dramatic wallpaper or bold blocks of emulsion (think DIY Rothko).
- Hostess with the Mostess, a beautiful blog about contemporary entertaining, had a post on Wednesday about some Jonathan Adler dishes that will really bring the feel of summer into your home -- or outside on the patio.
- Finally, Habitually Chic has photos of a gorgeous New York apartment owned by designer Amanda Nisbet. The post is really inspirational because the rooms are both traditional and modern with some fantastic colors.
Don't forget to return here next week. We've got some great things to share, including lots of the art you'll be able to find at the upcoming Broadripple Art Fair. Plus, we'll be giving away four tickets to the fair! Watch for details.
