This was House #2 in the New Home Tour
at the Village of West Clay and was the most expensive on the tour, which ended on Sunday and was
sponsored by the Builders Association of Indianapolis. The tour featured nine
homes in different styles by different builders.
This French Second Empire Home was built by Woodall Construction Services and is 6,500 square feet. It's on the market for nearly $1.6 million. It was partially furnished by Linda Morgan in a fairly traditional style with some contemporary touches.
This beautiful entryway was decorated largely in black, which was a predominant color in many of the houses on the tour. The entry included this beautiful glass lamp, shown below.
This tiny chandelier was in a bathroom just off the entryway.
This arched entry into the formal dining room was one of the home's architectural highlights.
The dining room combined traditional and more modern elements, surrounded by large windows and a small door onto the front porch. The chandelier below hung over the table.
The elegant, traditional living room featured French doors leading out onto a walled patio, shown below.
The kitchen featured glazed cherry cabinets and a hutch in black.
I loved the way the designer included this oversized piece of art in this tiny bathroom. It was really striking.
This was a bookcase on a staircase landing. You can see here that the floors and railings were dark, as were the fixtures in the kitchen and bathrooms. Builder Dale Woodall said those darker accents fit the style of the home. But he said he kept the woodwork white to make the home more contemporary and help the wall colors pop.
Generally, I didn't photograph undecorated spaces, but I wanted to include this third floor bonus or office space. It was a two-story sort of tower room. Very striking but I wouldn't want to have to choose window treatments!
This bar -- and the game room, family room and bathroom below -- were all part of a beautiful basement.
